This was a great product, was able to bring lap top on the plane and plug mine and my husbands headphone into it and watch a movie.
The range of control is VERY narrow, and I can't actually discern a difference in volume level; the only difference is that the sound quality gets a little fuzzier at one end of the slide than the other. I bought this splitter in hopes of being able to share my MP3 player with my husband when we were out and about. If you were hoping and expecting, as I was, that you could actually count on hearing your music at a different volume than your "partner," DON'T.Sound quality seemed middling to me, and was slightly different between the two ports, strangely. We are both in our early 40s, and neither of us has hearing problems, but we do tend to like our music at different volumes, so this sounded like a win to me.I did read some reviews, but didn't get down far enough to see that other people were having the same problem I've had. which is that "volume control" is laughable. I paid $4.00, but then the same amount again for shipping, and would rather have spent the money to see a movie. :-(
This item does the job it's supposed to do. The individual volume controls sounded as if they'd be handy but are sort of difficult to adjust - it's best to have the volume up all the way on the laptop, ipod, etc then each person can use their own volume adjustor to more accurately find a comfortable listening volume.
Perfect for sharing your music. The individual sound control is a great addition. Nice product at the price.
Product was shipped in a prompt manner. I gave this as a gift and haven't heard of any problems with it.
